Diffie-Hellman

Pierwszy algorytm realizujący w praktyce ideę kryptografii niesymetrycznej.

Diffie-Hellman cały czas jest uważany za algorytm bezpieczny - pod warunkiem stosowania długich kluczy. Konstrukcja algorytmu oparta jest na matematycznym problemie logarytmów dyskretnych, pod względem trudności porównywalnych z problemem rozkładu dużych liczb pierwszych (którym posłużono się m.in. przy budowie algorytmu RSA).
